Tis Hazari Court is located near ISBT Bus stand, Kashmeri Gate. It’s was construction started in 1953 at the cost of Rs. 85 lacs and was inaugurated on 19th March, 1958 by then Chief Justice Mr. A.N. Bhandari of Punjab High Court. It is one of the largest district courts in Asia. Tis Hazari court Delhi has both civil and criminal courts. There are about 400 court rooms in the building of Tis Hazari. It has been found that more than 50,000 people visit Tis Hazari court daily.  Tis Hazari is one of the six district courts of Delhi that is functioning under the Delhi High Court. In the building of Tis Hazari court Delhi there are five libraries for lawyers, a library for judicial officers and also has the Treasury of the Government of N.C.T. of Delhi.

As the population and number of cases was increasing day by day, the need of distributing the work load of district court Tis Hazari was felt. Hence gradually district courts were shifted to other court complexes like Rohini court complex which cater the needs of north-west Delhi and outer Delhi. Saket Court complex handles the south-east Delhi. Presently the Tis Hazari court has the jurisdiction over Central Delhi, North Delhi and West Delhi.
